Hence the name, this is would be a new surface that would be used to make certain parts of a part invisible.
Example: Let's say you're in a house. In normal gameplay, you're not supposed to see outside of the house, but the outside of it still renders causing lag. So, to prevent lag, you could change the outside surfaces to invisible so it wouldn't render and prevent lag, without making the entire house invisible.
Now, you could put a decal on an invisible block, but this is just more convenient and not as laggy as decals either.
