just a friendly reminder (unrelated to this thread, really) that we're all consciously or unconsciously driven by the acquisition of pleasure and the avoidance of pain. It is from these basic reactions that all notions of "noble/ignoble ideas" or "how the world ought to be/how the world ought to work/how people ought to act" derive from. Anyone assigning to something the noble/ignoble qualities is either ignorant of his true nature, in denial, or a liar.
In fewer words: All mankind is a selfish bastard
The upside: Now that you realize this, that all values are shams, you can focus on acquiring pleasure in its many forms. Altruism, Material gain, etc.
