he literally wants to have a revolution where anarchists overthrow all forms and stages of the U.S. government and eradicate all forms of capitalism because it's the root of all the world's socioeconomic problems
and he's 100% serious

I can honestly see where he is coming from. The US Government is corrupt in many ways. |
|

anarchy will only result in capitalism on a smaller scale lol
those who hold the wealth hold the power. why would you not have a state to at least make sure that wealth is evenly distributed? |
|

Sounds like the seattle riots |
|

Totally. You guys pick on cheesey way to much when he's the only one who can provide detailed analysis about such topics
He pretty much kills you all in debates except when it comes to the packers |
|

"sorry i believe in the treatment of other people as human beings and think everyone should be treated equally"
which will never be achieved under anarchy |
|

"Totally. You guys pick on cheesey way to much when he's the only one who can provide detailed analysis about such topics"
how does he kill anyone when his political ideas are the same as children who don't like taxes |
|

why not? are people not allowed to live their lives freely without others stealing the value of their labor from them? do you not believe people are smart enough to democratically control the means of production and dictate their lives freely amongst themselves?
what is so bad about having a society without the hierarchical, oppressive institution of the state that has, in every single society that has had one, done nothing but oppress the working people?

"why not? are people not allowed to live their lives freely without others stealing the value of their labor from them?"
this can be achieved under democracy
"do you not believe people are smart enough to democratically control the means of production and dictate their lives freely amongst themselves?"
did you ever learn about why we have huge societies like we do today? try browsing the philosophy section of your library, considering you don't understand that your ideas have already been dismissed
"what is so bad about having a society without the hierarchical, oppressive institution of the state that has, in every single society that has had one, done nothing but oppress the working people?"
because society in itself tends to organize itself into hierachical, oppressive institutions regardless of whether or not there's a state?
there have been societies in anarchy before, and there have been societies without government before. it goes well for no one. |

"do you not believe people are smart enough to democratically control the means of production and dictate their lives freely amongst themselves?"
Unfortunately this isn't about people being "smart enough". This kind of a society can't be achieved (unless you live in a very small village) because living organisms, including humans, are inherently selfish. |
|
|
>this can be achieved under democracy
correct, in true democracy, not bourgeois democracy
>did you ever learn about why we have huge societies like we do today? try browsing the philosophy section of your library, considering you don't understand that your ideas have already been dismissed
...how is that relevant to the people's collective control of the means of production? lol
>because society in itself tends to organize itself into hierachical, oppressive institutions regardless of whether or not there's a state?
no, it doesn't and it doesn't have to be that way either
>there have been societies in anarchy before, and there have been societies without government before. it goes well for no one.
all anarchist revolutions have been ruined by marxists and their destructive beaurocratic (non-socialist) dictatorships

there is no such thing as human nature, this statement is incorrect and one of the fallacies of capitalist argument against anarchism

humans are taught and educated to believe and act certain ways, they are not "inherently" good or evil and all people have the power to work collectively together

"humans are taught and educated to believe and act certain ways, they are not "inherently" good or evil and all people have the power to work collectively together"
because this worked really well for the U.S.S.R. right, the godless society where everyone was taught to contribute to the state to benefit each other as a whole instead of selfish western capitalist principles |

"humans are taught and educated to believe and act certain ways, they are not "inherently" good or evil and all people have the power to work collectively together"
Being inherently selfish =/= Being inherently good or evil.
I also applied the statement to all living organisms, thusly all plant and animal life.
While there's no doubt that human beings pick up traits based on how they're raised, there's also no doubt that humans, like all life that exists anywhere in the universe, have the instinct to support themselves and survive. |

"correct, in true democracy, not bourgeois democracy"
how do you define "true democracy"? is it the athenian one where only property owning males could vote? is it "one person, one vote" which leads to a tyranny of the majority?
"...how is that relevant to the people's collective control of the means of production? lol"
because it's covered in philosophy? once again, seeing mad max and determining it to be the best movie ever does not count as philosophy
"no, it doesn't and it doesn't have to be that way either"
1. that's actually how it has always happened
2. that's actually how it is always going to happen
"all anarchist revolutions have been ruined by marxists and their destructive beaurocratic (non-socialist) dictatorships"
or because it's a bad idea that can only exist in a vacuum where all history and philosophy is ignored
"there is no such thing as human nature,"
lol
"this statement is incorrect and one of the fallacies of capitalist argument against anarchism"
except human beings do have an innate desire to survive and prosper so you're actually off the mark (yet again) |
|

>because this worked really well for the U.S.S.R. right, the godless society where everyone was taught to contribute to the state to benefit each other as a whole instead of selfish western capitalist principles
the USSR was a capitalist, destructive, backwards society, correct

humans have the power to work together like i said, just because people have *instincts* to survive and further themselves, doesn't mean they can't do it in a collective manner instead of *against* each other like in capitalist society

good god who do you get your history from. it surely wasn't a purely communist state, but that doesn't mean it was a feudalist hell hole
"humans have the power to work together like i said, just because people have *instincts* to survive and further themselves, doesn't mean they can't do it in a collective manner instead of *against* each other like in capitalist society"
except capitalism in the post-colonial era did improve the human condition a great degree and encouraged cooperation up until the reagan years |

And like I mentioned earlier, as much as I'd like this to be a realistic possibility for an entire country without problems, it's really only possible to have a fully collective society if you're living in a very small village.
Even the members of a family of two are known to have trouble working collectively, so however many people you stack up into a populated area, the less chance you're going to get of having a fully collective society. |
