USMC BMT Guide Boots will be told to fall in on the formation grid in front of the main building complex. They will then be informed as to what will be conducted during the next 1 to 3 hours in order for them to become Official Marines. Dominance MUST be maintained! Phase 1 - Introduction The boots will then be scrutinised and organised. All hair, faces, bodies and MCCUUs must be in accordance to USMC mandate. No stupid faces but must be stern. No hair is allowed during the BMT. No sympathy must be shown towards any boot. You must say the following: Welcome to USMC Basic Military Training. I am your Drill Instructor [RANK] [NAME] (Add the name/rank of any assistant/s) You WILL refer to me/us as SIR/MA’AM You WILL go through a ONE to TWO hour training You HAVE NO name or identity anymore You WILL shout everything while not in doors You WILL salute colors Whenever an Officer passes you by, you will stop and salute, you can not move until saluted back. You MUST address those above you by rank and name correctly You WILL refer to those among you as “BOOT” You will NO longer use terms to describe yourself/others such as “I” “Me” “Him” “Her” “Us” You WILL instead use “THIS BOOT” “THAT BOOT” “THESE BOOTS” “THOSE BOOTS” You WILL reply to a question with “YES/NO SIR” You WILL reply to a command with “AYE SIR” If you make a mistake and asked why, you will reply with “NO EXCUSE SIR” Important - What a boot should look like No stupid face Must be bald Must have human skin color USMC BOOTS CAN NOT HAVE ANY STUPID FACE, HAIR, HAT COMBO, ETC. THEY MUST REMAIN BALD UNTIL THEY PASS BMT Phase 2 - Drills and Commands Boots must be able to perform the following commands and actions (There must be a gap between the command): Stationary Commands Left Face Right Face About Face Center Face (Use sparingly, as it is technically a funeral command) Present Arms (Hand Salute, interchangeable) Order Arms At Ease or Stand At Ease (Not to be confused with Parade rest, during At Ease you can spin but not move, nor talk.) Parade Rest (Not to be confused with At Ease. In Parade Rest you may listen only. No speaking, moving, etc.) Attention (Formally “Atten-hut”) Movement Commands Forward March Column Left March (To turn left) Column Right March (To turn right) Column of Files from the right. (Make a Single File Line) Column of Threes from the left. (Make a 3 column formation, Change "Threes" for however many columns necessary) [UnitName],Halt (Substitute [UnitName] for unit name, such as: Platoon, Halt Squad,Halt Etc.) Phase 3 - PT Boots will run two laps of the base and sing in cadence of the Instructor’s choice. They MUST wear a PT belt. After each lap, they will do a minimum of 100 JJs before starting the next. Boots must complete the course within a time span of 4 minutes. They will have 4 attempts at the course. Boots who do exceptionally well during the course can assume command of the others in an attempt to improve their leadership traits. Boots must complete a minimum of 100 JJs after they have complete the course. After both stages, boots must require a minimum of 200 JJs to pass PT. Phase 4 - Range and Combat Boots will be given a quick run through with the weapons. They will use both zhoutai-class weapons and Jordy-class weapons. Instructions/steps for range: DO NOT LET THEM RELOAD WITHOUT INSTRUCTION - Those who do MUST complete 50 JJs as punishment Have Boot stand behind sand bags Have them select weapon Run through weapon controls (R for Reload, F for firing Modes, G to switch to secondary sight, H for PEQ-15, Y to zoom in, U to zoom out, J for flashlight) Have them use semi fire mode with weapons and eliminate a target with a single mag (Instruct them to use Aim Down Sight ability if available) Have them use full auto fire mode and eliminate a target with a single mag while hip-firing weapon (In 3rd person and have cursor over target and fire) Have them use weapon ability (Throw grenade/Fire M203) Once boots have completed the stages at the range, they will then be split up into the two fire teams and respawned. They will do two scenario exercises, Capture and control and KO rack up. They will have two rounds for each scenario. They will have a minimum of 10 minutes for each round. Capture and control will have both teams fight for dominance over a flag, team that hold/held the flag the longest takes the game point. After first round, teams will then be rearranged for next round. KO rack up will require both teams to gain 50-100 KOs to win the round. NOTE: Spawn killing is allowed along with camping. TEAM KILLING FOR KOS IS NOT PERMISSIBLE AND PUNISHABLE BY 200 JJs. Phase 5 - Ranks, Paygrade and Command structure Drill Instructors will first go through the ranks and their pay grades and give a description as to what the rank holds, such as CPL being the first NCO e.t.c. Boots will then be asked about a pay grade and they will describe it . Phase 6 - Uniforms and Dresses Boots will be informed about the various standard issue uniforms and dresses in circulation within USMC, such as: Charlies Bravos Deltas Alphas Dress Whites Dress Blues MCCUUs FROGS Various Combat rigs They will also be informed about what cover goes with what uniform/dress along with what violations they should stray from. Phase 6 - Proper form of addressing one another and superiors. Boots will be taught that they will address those of their own pay grade and low by either name, rank or both. Example - Sergeant Matthew, LCPL Steven etc. all the way up to Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps. When they reach Officers, they will address them either by rank followed by their name or Sir/Ma’am. They will also learn to stand and salute Officers on base (Not in Combat zones) while they’re passing them by. Phase 7 - Graduation For graduation, the National Anthem will be played followed by the USMC Hymn with full honors by all. Not all Boots will have what it takes to become a Marine. Therefore, it is up to the Instructor to pass or fail any boot who he/she deems unfit and requires another BMT to achieve it. Honor Graduates will receive the rank of E3 after completion and will wear Dress Blues to their graduation. Those who are not Honor grad will receive the rank of E2. They will be called up by the Instructor, formally given the rank by him/her and then asked to step back into formation. So on so forth. Once all have been given their new ranks, they can be formally dismissed.
