I started to eat. I talked to my fellow comrades. |

You sat down and started to shove the food into your mouth. A few chats with your kameraden. After a while, everyone was finished with their breakfasts. They get into shape and ready for battle. The squad leader briefs everyone: They're going to move to the place they're needed: Pastavy. It lies further into Russia. The drive there will be mostly peaceful, as Army Group Center has swept everything up. Then they will head straight down to Myadzyel, to clear out any partisan resistance left.
As you head out, you notice that everyone is packing up for movement. This may be your last chance to swap your weapons. Would you like to switch weapons? |

I switched my weapons, to ones that would suit me better. |

You excuse yourself for a moment and head to the armory. They're packing up too, with weapons being thrown into large boxes along with their ammo, being put on trucks. What do you want to grab? MG42? MP40? |

You dropped your Kar98k off at the nearest box full of them, and the ammo in the nearest box full of clips. You asked for an MP40. After some unboxing, you received a fresh MP40, accompanied with about 4 magazines. You return to the half-track.
Sit in it or man its MG? |

You sat down, propping the newly acquired SMG on your knee. The ride will be long. Take a nap? |
I took a nap. I hoped that everything will run smoothly. |

You closed your eyes. The sound of the roaring engines did nothing to stop you from sleeping. You always were a deep sleeper.
Your sleep was rudely interrupted by the half-track suddenly halting. You peek out, expecting partisans or something. But there aren't any this time. The convoy has halted in a clearing in a forest to rest, recuperate, rearm and refuel. Men can be seen with those new jerry cans that you were issued, hurtling towards the vehicles to refuel them.
Your fellow comrades are getting off of their vehicles. Stay on or join them? |

You jumped down. Your comrades sat in a few circles. Some talked, some shared food, some played cards. As you stood watch, you spotted a few shadows moving in the fading sunlight. |
"I see something over there I'm going to check it out" I said pointing. I held my gun, as I crept forwards. |

The squad leader nods, and sends 2 men with you just in case. As you close in on the shadows, you notice they're also pushing something big, with wheels, and a rod sticking out on the front. |

As you moved forward, one of the shadows started pointing fingers, and the shadows moved faster, headed to a bush. At the same time, you see more shadows emerging from the left and right. |
I made the signal to shoot at the shadows. I aimed my gun and put my hand on the trigger. |

You raise your MP40. The new factory-made smell floods your nose as you bring it to bear, about head-height, barrel pointed upwards.
As your comrades started firing, the shadows start firing back. Bullets whiz by, hitting the dirt near you, dangerously close though.
The rest of the convoy has been alerted, as everyone rushed to their weapons. You started firing in bursts. 2 shadows fall.
Retreat to convoy or dig in near the treeline behind you? |

You yelled to your comrades to fall back to the convoy. The tracers start to fly. Their tracers fly at you, your tracers fly at them. You see more shadows falling due to the covering fire your convoy comrades are providing. You can also hear larger puffs of dirt, along with rapid loud bangs. Must be the FlaK gun on that new half-track model at the end of the convoy.
As you retreated, one of your comrades were shot in the knee and went down screaming in pain. Grab him on the way back or leave him? |
I grabbed him on the way back. I put him over my shoulder and ran as fast as I can |

As you slung him over your back, you notice how bad his bleeding has already turned into. As you hurtle back, struggling to maintain balance, the troops keep firing at you. You get to the convoy. What now? |
I needed to find a way to get him back to 'camp'. |

A medic comes by and takes the soldier off your back. Now, back to the fighting. You see lots and lots of Russians charging, but are being repelled by the massed firepower. But then you spot a few shadows lurking in a faraway bush, with what appears to be an AT gun.
You can lead men to move up and intercept, or perhaps redirect the fire of that new 20mm that they're using. |
I redirected dire at the new 'gun'. |
