I got a chromebook for christmas and I'd like to know if there's a way to install roblox on it. I've heard it doesn't work on chromebooks, but that was a long time ago and I'd like to know if anything has changed. I just want an answer. I could see for myself, but this is a new computer and I don't want to mess it up. Please don't tell me to use one of those scam websites.
I'm just asking if I can install it the way I would do on any other computer. |

I am sorry to say this, but unfortunately ROBLOX does not work with Chrome OS. Maybe ROBLOX will make an app for the chrome browser sometime though. |

Alright, i own an Acer 11 Cb3-111 chromebook, there are a few issues with running roblox on it.
1) ChromeOS is based on Gentoo Linux, and no linux is supported by roblox at all
2) Its locked down, you have to put it into developer mode to access the shell
3) Even then, with a fully functional linux terminal, there is no package manager (what you use on linux to install programs from a repository of programs easily)
4) Even if you install a package manager, install Wine (windows emulation tool) and try to run roblox, Roblox has a system check which keeps you from running it on linux anyway.
Most chromebooks do have the specs to run Roblox pretty easily, not at any high graphics but they can handle it. I had it running for a while within ChromeOS via Wine before roblox installed the system check crap. And it worked ok. I hope they will either make a linux port or will get rid of the system check.
If you install Crouton you can try running Roblox via a Hackintosh chroot environment, but then you have to deal with the buggy mac version.

Also, another option that was posted in the other thread about Chromebooks, you can SSH into another computer running windows or OSX in order to play on that one. As long as that computer is also on your home network.
Chrome Remote Desktop is an app in the Chrome store that makes it pretty easy. |

Yeah, I got a Acer Chromebook 11 and I have no way to ply Roblox also. I've tried Browser-Stack which people have advised but apparently the site is blocked. I do miss Roblox a-lot. But the way my computer is set up humph...So if you get anything about this update can you message me also? |

Roblox doesn't have support for chromebook, it will have it in some time probobly.f

Chromebooks are great, you could try installing it or getting a different browser to install it with, chrome books are used more for its space and sending emails and taking notes |

well it doesnt work from what i have seen it gives me a link and it goes no where then it tell me to do windows stuff but my laptop is not a window and it annoying, i think that chromes are rubbish, you cant do nothing. |

Roblox won't really function well on a chrome book. But hey, at least you're saving money so you can be more rich in the future and as long as you have a sticker that says an Intel chip is placed in the chrome book, that's what Linux is for so you can play Steam games. |

I just sent a message to roblox at [email protected] for support for Chrome OS (btw this will take 48 hours for your message to be read). Hopefully,roblox will respond and make support for Chrome OS! |

It's been a year since I posted this, why are y'all still commenting? Lol
You really can't do much with a chromebook other than browse the internet so the best thing for me to do is just get another computer.

Honestly, its a better option to shell out 100$ for an old point of sale core2duo machine and chuck a gt 710 and a few gigs of ram in it I bought an HP DC7700 for like 40$, spent another 30$ on a gt 710 and some ram It aint much but it plays roblox on max settings pretty well Running roblox on a chromebook is possible, theres a bunch of ways to do it, but its not natively supported on ChromeOS. Its just not gonna be easy, it may be buggy, it may not work at all. And even then ### specs that chromebooks have, its going to be just barely playable. Invest in a proper system if you want to play demanding games. |

I feel you man ever since I got mine, the first thing I tried to download was roblox, what did it do, not work so I get how you feel man, trust me.And also I found this site that lets you use like mac books but you need one so... ,but anyway I will try to contact Roblox for you, and me. |
