This is a great tip for anyone struggling against a large enemy.
Learn to use infinite overdrive. It'll make you OP even without a Skell.
The trick is to rack up combos to gain TP as fast as possible. If you get 3000 TP before your overdrive is used up, you can use overdrive again and get your time back. The larger your overdrive combo the larger damage you do. So if you keep gaining TP like mad then you keep the combo going and can destroy massive monsters in a matter of seconds.
Some useful skills to max out are
TP Overdrive (boosts TP by 150 whenever you use an art in overdrive)
Minscape (boosts maximum TP by 1500)
Hellbound (Extends overdrive by 10 seconds)
The arts you want to use really depends on your class. I always use the Full Metal Jaguar class. So the arts I recommend maxing out are
Primer (increases TP by 200)
Blood Sacrifice (halves HP but boosts TP by 1000)
Sliding Slinger (increases TP by 25 per hit)
Violent Streak (grants 25 TP per hit)
Ghostwalker (spamming this can make you invincible)
Electric Surge (strong and with multiple hits means it gives you some TP)
Back Slash (it's just really freaking powerful if you're behind the enemy)
Side Slash (builds up really quickly and is rather strong)
Make sure to watch when your TP hits 3000 then immediately use overdrive again.
I was level 60 and fought a level 53 tyrant. Its health was going down uber slow like most tyrants. I tried fighting him again using infinite overdrive and I wrecked him in just a few seconds.
