"enough to give me shudders just by thinking about it" I assume that means so much that some people consider suicid3 over it?

We pretty much take a benchmark every 6 weeks, excluding the last 2, so about 4 right there. That's not even including that we take multiple for every class, so lets multiply it be 2. So there's 8, plus the normal checkpoints which are about twice every new lesson, especially in my math, so about 22 right there. Then we have those random as two question tests, so about 24. Then when you have things like for me, Spanish, you already have 2 automatic tests, so 26. Then the state test, which will randomize, but on standard is about 3 subjects so there is 3 tests. So off the top of my head, 29. #Code Original Signature

varies from state to state, but america is infamous for having an insanely high amount of standardized tests when compared to similarly developed countries

from my own research the test seem more like 'STUDY' to get a good grade than 'LEARN' to get a good grade.
