Is how Rey knows how to use the force almost perfectly, lightsaber duel, and can mind control even though she's never seen the force in any sort of application.
I don't care if Kylo Ren got shot by a powerful laser. Him, being the apprentice to a powerful Sith Lord, should know how to deal with two complete newbags.
He should've KO'd Finn in 3 swipes, and destroyed Rey in 20 seconds.
(btw fighting with a long rod doesn't resemble lightsaber fighting anyway whatsoever, especially when she doesn't fight ppl with other rods. lol. )
Rey is overpowered. Fair and square. Regardless of the damage he got with the Bowcaster, he still should've won.
Unless he went easy on her for some dumb reason. Still, doesn't seem so due to the multiple times he tried to chop her head off during the fight.
PS. would say the same if a dude learned how to use the force in 2 seconds |

except ren is distracted because he finds out that he kills han solo in the new star wars |

1.
She could have had previous training. Think of Darth Revan forgetting about his past but unlocking powers as he goes.
2.
Kylo was shot by a projectile not a laser. The bowcaster shoots a magnetically accelerated projectile, basically a rail gun. It's stuck in his hip.

Thats my thing.
Luke Skywalker debatable had most mithoclorians and what not.
AND TRAINED KYLO REN.
THEN KYLO REN ALSO GOT TRAINED MY THIS NEW SUPREME LEADER
And a girl who never held a saber could hold her own and actually came an inch from killing him.
I understand the mind-control; under such duress the force is known to do such things.
But the skill of a saber can't just flash like that.
So either Kylo is a horrible force-user; or Rey is 100x better than Anakin.
Either one is poor taste |

@Kirk - He was planning to kill him from the start of the conversation.
He only delayed his death so they wouldn't blow up the planet.
Notice the change of attitude in Kylo Ren when the sun is no longer visible?
They obviously still managed to blow it up, but it was probably a show to keep them from wandering off and disabling the laser. |

@Kab
That's the only justifiable answer I can think of as well. If she haven't received training however.. It's all BS.
Also, the projectile would've caused even more pain. Making him fight better. Obviously he didn't. |
|

As for Finn source material states he's excelled in the use of multiple weapon platforms including melee weapons. Sword fighting isn't something too odd for him.
No, he didn't fight better at all. We have to wait for the next movie for anything to make sense.
TR-8R better return |
|

You know something I didn't realize at first.
Chewbacca being one of the best sharpshooter of his planet/tribe (i mean he fought clone wars too)
and had perfect shot at Kylo. And Kylo didn't deflect it either, he got shot.
Such a sharpshooter couldn't hit a still target?
I mean my reasoning is because he couldn't take killing a son he raised (he's han's best friend I feel like he was like an uncle to him) and his best friend's son. But idk still sketch
The Darth Revan thing could be possible but shows a clip of her being left alone as a child.
so unless the that was a thought placed in her mind. idk |

I love TR-8R. Except didn't he get killed? The method of his demise escapes me.. but right before he finished off Finn, he got shot or something..? |
|
|
Han rescued Chewie while stationed somewhere in Kashykk
or not since you know it ain't canon
I do believe she might be similar to Revan in that case. Forgetting things and acquiring basic training. |
|
|
TR-8R did get shot.
Getting shot doesn't mean getting killed though. Unless it was a projectile like the bowcaster he's kind of screwed.
Honestly I love the emotion that they gave the stormtroopers. TR-8R saw fin stab somebody that he might have known. His friend, Finn, a fellow stormtrooper that he grew up with betrayed him. He's genuinely upset about it. Forget Phasma |

@Fuut
You mean Chew' held back and didn't aim for his head? And instead his torso/shoulder? |
|
|
Personally I think he did.
I mean would you be able to kill a kid you raised like your own son?
But at the same time part of you thinks, well he killed your best friend aim for the head. |

@Kab
I certainly hope they continue adding personality and humanizing the storm troopers. it gives their deaths more meaning.
Also, TR-8R could still be alive due to the way storm trooper armour works. (spreads damage out rather than deflecting completely) |

@Fuut
He could've been so mad that his aim was off. Also Kylo Ren couldn't die due to the plot. |
|
|
John did a good job though expressing emotion behind that armor. |

@Kab
TR-8R's name is John? What? |
|
|
If you ever watch I.M.P.S it gives the stormtroopers plenty of backstory |
|
|
No, John is finn
John Boyega
first scene of the film |

@Kab
Oh, I get it now.
Also I could never get myself to watch the animated series. Too cringe for me..
However I have read some bits and pieces of the books. I may read some of the books before the next one comes out. |
