IE jokes are a lot less funny since they made it a functional web browser. Jokes like OP just show which people like to bandwagon.

The new IE is up to par with Chrome. The whole reason they're rebranding it is because people haven't caught on to that fact. I still use Firefox and Chrome out of preference, but IE isn't anywhere near a bad browser.

Not nearly. Chrome can't even compete with Firefox, let alone Chromium. IE is easily as good as Chrome.

Chrome gets its userbase for no reason other than marketing and being better than IE for so many years, building brand loyalty. Thinking otherwise is preposterous.

If we gauged efficiency and output by userbase, Ubuntu would be the dominent consumer-level OS on the market and nobody would buy Apple products.

I'm not very informed on consumer friendly Linux installations. I use Windows 8.1 on my gaming comp and Kali on my laptop that I use for everything else.

I'm using the Google Chrome engine in IE, with extensions and everything. How cool is that?

Probably. The rebranding of the browser just leaves behind the bad image of IE.
