I don't understand Musicals, they make no sense. One minute they're talking, then the next they're all bursting out in song and doing the same exact moves without notice. My signature is undefined..

usually the music in musicals isn't just random singing. It's meant to display the characters emotion in a way that simple dialogue cannot or it reveals something about characters or the overall plot of the musical. The songs are messages just like the lines are. Mamma Mia! uses its songs well to develop the plot

The only musical I'll give any credit is Hamilton. But that is only because: A. The music is excellent B. Already know the plot because I'm a history nerd But i don't like how they portray Lafayette in some ways. "In sweet music is such art" - King Henry VIII

I don't believe they ruin the plot. The songs contribute to it and they characterize the musical's characters well. The song "shy" from Once Upon A Mattress conveys that though Princess Winifred has an outwardly outgoing persona, she has deeper insecurities that lie within. I can understand how people can have a negative opinion about musicals if they aren't into on-stage singing, but i enjoy them and I don't quite get why one would think the songs damage the plot. Most musicals I can think of would be awfully boring without the song and dance. Maybe plays would be more fitting for you?

The only Musical I like is *Oliver!* Because 1. You can tell whats going on 2. There isn't a song every 2 seconds.
