I plan on making a RPG about One Piece. I want it to be like One Piece Golden Age (Not Completely Copied). I want it to have devil fruit, with certain spawning time, abilities that unlock at certain levels. Se prate level systems for blades, melee, and other things. My main question is how long would I have to study Lua and what would I have to know. I have no experience in any other programming language, but I consider myself a fast dedicated learner.

It depends on the person and how you learn, as well as how you spend your time. I suggest you come up with an idea (that you want to make), look at the wiki on info on how to do it, try and make it yourself, and ask questions when needed (on this forum). That is primarily how I learned. You could also try YouTube videos and one on one lessons (with other players). You could also try using what other people make, messing around with it, and try and learn from it. Like I said, it's pretty much up to you on how long it'll take. ~MightyDantheman

I've been programming in LUA since I was 9 or 10. Its been 4 years since then and I still don't 'know' it to the point at which I can create a game without help from the Roblox Wiki, simply because I cannot remember APIs. If your talking about getting learning the syntax, I was able to learn C#'s syntax in about a week, and giving that syntax is more complex than Roblox, I'd say less than that. -____________________________-
