In 2423, the IASS[International Association of Space and Science] launched the Hope, a series of space shuttles carrying one hundred members of each participating country beyond Earth's atmosphere[not necessarily together] and to the stars. The planet had long since been overrun by pollution, with much of the Earth's relics, ancient and modern, left completely devastated by years of disease and war.
And yet, there was hope. On Earth, humans were too far gone to save. But they were now sending humans into space to a little shack of a planet fondly named Aristotle-8849b. They would set it out to the new population of the planet to name it. These men and women and especially children had seen what had happened on humanity's old world - surely they would learn their lesson and preserve human kind on a new one?
That is not human nature. But people can change.

This takes place a couple of years after everyone landed, so countries have already been defined, armies have been built, etc. Everyone starts neutral to each other.

We're a group of Knights Hospitalators from France that were given rights from the Pope to colonize and christianize the new planet we are the last surviving crusader state that has existed since the 1100's. While we are a military group that doesn't focus on actually doing stuff with our land since France usually does it for us.
