There are verses in both the (Christian) Old Testament and New Testament that advocate killing nonbelievers.

Well, you have a whole life to worhsip to the God.
I don't think that if you just go and torture it earlier, it will don't help about that situation... even better, it will make the situation worse.

Jesus also said that sinners would burn in hell for eternity.
There are some good tenets of Jesus' philosophy, but they need to be taken in context of the character of God as established in the Bible (cruel, sadistic, tyrannical) and of the main overarching message of "worship me or suffer" |

But if half the bible contradicts the other half, why would you ever follow it? What kind of perfect God can't set his own rules and morals straight? Get it? Straight? Because your God doesn't like anything not straight? Leviticus 20:13

But Jesus isn't the sole part of the Bible, in fact he's only a part of the New Testament, which, as I said, also advocates killing.

I can't tell why God does that, because his justice is a bit different from our justice, and since we aren't on the heaven with him, we can't tell too much.
Is like your mom saying "Don't touch that plug", you don't know the reason but you decide to don't touch it, because it will get bad things for you.
But anyway, if you guys see him as a genocidal fairy tale character that is a seeker attetion for love. (At least debate)
I ain't no experienced, and i just like to debate with random people about religion.
