"Left, Right! Left, Right!" your comrades roared. "Another quarter mile to go lads" the Lieutenant bellowed. Everyone took a deep sigh and replied in a raspy "Yes, Sir!". Twenty years ago, you probably had different plans. Maybe become a lawyer, an engineer, maybe even have a family. Instead, you're tediously marching up and down the square wasting yourself. Then you ponder to yourself, " How did I get here? More importantly why am here." "Right, Left, Rig- GET DOWN! NOW!" the Lieutenant shrieked.
Exactly 2 minutes later,
You awaken to gunshots, and immediate bomb shelling. The once peaceful night sky was enveloped by chaos, fire and worst yet; Vaktovian Badanovs. Dropship after dropship Vaktovians dropped and swiftly deployed into our homeland. Your platoon Commander slaps you directly across the face and directs the able to the front lines. You're sprinting through the expansive under growth smelling the minty freshness of the environment only to be ruined by the smell of stA-54s. Phasers whiz through your head hitting your former comrades one by one. At this point you're trembling with fear, cursing your fortune for such a horrible fate. The remaining comrades in your group are demoralized and have lost all hope. Everyone except, the Lieutenant that is. His eyes sharp and his jaw line even sharper! He looked at us with great confidence and said, " Let's execute. Glory to Arcadia!". "Glory" everyone else mumbled. We were ordered to move forward towards the Vaktovian occupied communications tower, it was surely a suicide mission from Hicom; a desperate measure. We sprinted towards the tower disregarding the consequences, and eventually hit Vaktovian personnel. Lasers flying bullets crashing, we were heavily out gunned and out numbered. However, something amazing began to climax. One after another we became reckless and gave our all for Arcadia. We pushed forwards only to be stopped by the walls of the communications fence.
"GLORY TO ARCADIA" WE CRIED.
That battle was won, and something I discovered was; Arcadia does not give in. We are honorable warriors who fight till the bitter end. Defeat or victory we welcome it. However, today we have advanced from the past and taken a leap into success. Not only have we found purpose, we found dominance. "Glory to Arcadia" is an oath, spoken by the few who believe in community and friendship.
