Configuration class?

What's the purpose of this? I've read the documentation, but it seems no different than a folder. Am I missing something here?

You put it in a model/part, add values in it and can change them with roblox configuration tool I think

ROBLOX used to have this Configuration tool (remember Build mode) It was able to configure values stored in a Configuration "map" placed in a part

It doesn't actually have any use in Studio then, right? I noticed it and thought maybe it was a better means of placing values in your objects for the purposes of coding.
