What's a global variable?

#182838499Monday, February 01, 2016 6:23 PM GMT

I believe you mean Global function (_G) or the Global table. Either way, don't use it. It is horrible and has few applications where a more efficient and nice way can't be used (Remotes eh)

hahahahahahahahahahaha You use _G for NUMEROUS reasons, Remote events are not an alternative to _G

" I believe you mean Global function (_G) or the Global table. Either way, don't use it. It is horrible and has few applications where a more efficient and nice way can't be used (Remotes eh)" -10 respect Firstly a function is a type of variable, as is a table, both of which, as well as string values and the like, be stored in a _G. variable. Remote events are NOT a replacement for global variables, WTF!? Although, my personal preference is to have value instances, it is acceptable to store than as a _G.

People stop getting "_G" and "global variables" confused. In "vanilla" Lua it would be accurate, but this is Roblox where _G is NOT a reference to the global environment. "_G" is not the "global table" in Roblox, it's just a regular table at this point.
