"if living for someone else was an actual concept, then every decision you make is based off of that" no it's not "I define the purpose of existing as the bottom line to your reasonings to make decisions;" yeah I'm sure I don't want to get myself killed either but if I had to die for my loved ones I would gladly "if you lived for your family, you'd think about them in every decision you make and how it would affect them, you would do things for them that might not be good for you but good for them" I don't think about them in every decision. nobody would. but I still think about the better for my family "when I make a decision, I first and foremost think about myself and my happiness; will this make me happy or miserable? will this progress me as an individual or not?" you don't think people who put family first do that too?

Well TheMagentaDelight, your evident naivety is rather astounding, and repulsive. The concept of "living for family" is certainly existent. It is the product of the natural hedonistic-inclinations shared mutually between all human individuals. Relatives provide many individuals with a mechanism to receive self-pleasure via reassurance/assistance from external people. That is why they are so heavily celebrated.

apparently living for your own enjoyment makes you; - lonely - depressed - introverted (lol'd, first time I've been called that in my life.) (I also don't understand how this is a bad thing? it's in fact insulting towards the majority of this subforum) - plastic - selfish - you have family problems - you don't acknowledge family

pycq then you don't LIVE for your family you love them and appreciate them and apparently "always have them in your heart", but you don't LIVE for them that statement doesn't exist do you see how addicts live for their fix? everything they do is to get that fix, hence their reason to exist

"then you don't LIVE for your family" yes I do. psychology isn't gonna tell me otherwise how I am. I'd do anything for my family

no one here's knows me on a personal level, and those who do know that the personality I manage to withhold here isn't a fraction of who I really am
