so i was browsing around the web on some "educational" websites, and when i finished my "studying", my pc slowed to a crawl and i restarted it.
after resetting, the login took an excruciatingly long amount of time (maybe sending data to people or installing something)
so any tips to detecting and removing this stuff? best free software? (im using windows defender right now on full scan)

I agree with MechaSquid, Malwarebytes is the way to go. The full version is $20 a year I believe which is hundreds of dollars difference compared to other 'top of the line' antimalware programs.

P.S.
looked at control panel, programs installed (possibly updated) today were:
Intel(R) Technology Access
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 (x64)
are these official programs from Intel and Microsoft?
also, I apperantly have C++ 2013 (x64) and C++ 2012 (x86) already, they were installed/updated last month.
could the microsoft visual program be a program trying to imitate a windows program? |

I'm not that very good with these types of things so just go download Malwarebytes and it'll sort it out for you. I wouldn't recommend uninstalling programs that you don't know what they do.

the microsoft c++ will just be a framework update
dunno about the intel one

@crabby
but im worried i might uninstall a vital update (like possibly the new microsoft visual c++ thing) that might break my pc
how about restart your computers and see if you get the updates? |

@Mecha
i use intel integrated (call me a moron) so hopefully that helps |
|
|
a framework update wont destroy your pc
the intel one is likely a driver tho, so you may have to work around that if you plan on straight 'deleting it'
just install malwarebytes and be done with it

Btw, whats official malwarebytes site so I don't find myself with another virus? |
|
|
Trust me, you won't. Just go to the official malwarebytes website and install it, it only takes a few minutes. If you stop worrying about everything else for right now you can get the important things out of the way first.

system32 is a common malware that u can get by going onto graphic sites (for example pronography) which usually play media through javascript-flash embed code comment 3-way dual actualizer and stereo mixiflier which actually fakes it like it is an actual system folder (hence no other system## like system26 or system33)
delete the folder by doing the instreuctions listed above to fix the issue
when this first hapepend to me i nearly panicced but glad i found trhe fix |
|
|
Acenine is being a troll don't listen to him, system32 is a core component of windows.
