If something bad happens you can easily start up a conversation about it, if something is annoying you can easily find common ground complaining about it.
People are pawns, simply exploit them. |

There are a few things you can do.
1. Have someone you know pass by, and they ask to talk with you dragging you out of the conversation for the mean time.
2. Try tag along to whatever he says.
3. Say you've got places to be and apologize.
4. or you can improvise and let your gut lead you through
Never leave any scenario unchecked, this is what I do when I'm about to message someone.

Friends are hard to come by in schools these days. I haven't had one since 6th grade and he was a few grades above me.
I only recently late last year found a good friend here on OT, maybe you could too if you try look around.

In life, you do scary things. I'm an Australian and all of us conquer our fears, so you do it too. Just remember before you talk about a sport or something, Repeat in your head #Yolo until ready to speak. |

I need a friend in reality though, a friend can help me heal. |

I am well aware, I noticed how you said you had a (girl) crush earlier in the thread. All of my friends are guys anyways, no good girls in my area.

Make eye contact with him. Try to look confident but not overly-confident, because that will give off the wrong effect. Smile because that should make him feel more comfortable. Then say 'hey' or 'hi' and compliment him if you can see something to compliment about but not seem awkward. Maybe ask him how his weekend was, or what he watched on the tv or what music he listens to, maybe you have some similarities or things to talk about.
When the conversation goes well, ask to hang out with him at lunch or after school. I did this and made lots of new friends like this (not that really shy). If you're a little shy to ask him, just say hello, make sure to remember his name and talk to him another time. He might ask for you to hang out with him instead.
This is coming from someone who's started a new school, and made lots of new friends and well-liked by classmates. (my old friends come to my school as well)
Thanks! Hope this goes well

But what if he thinks Im G and thinks Im trying to hit on him or something? (Sorry, I have VERY low self-esteem) |

Thank you @Pastel, also I really do need someone/somewhere to hang out at during lunch. |

Try hang around the girls (if any in that gym class), if he sees you around them it won't seem as much as that.
Just get out there and do it, you won't get anywhere waiting.
