dysmorphia is a disorder that involves delusional beliefs about ones body that is borderline a psychotic disorder. you are not to treat this disorder with surgery, body modifications, etc, because that isn't the problem. e.g., a skinny person thinking they are fat
dysphoria is an anxiety disorder with no delusions involved, which is based on a discomfort due to your body not matching your identity. dysphoria is properly treated with surgery and hrt. e.g., a trans woman doesn't literally believe they have a v if they don't have one. so its not body dysmorphia |
