I'm confused how can you like White Zombie and not like Rob Zombie. Also the only alternate metal I see on this list is A Perfect Circle, Chevelle, A few albums by Linkin Park a lot of people don't know about, a bit of Seether and maybe a bit of Tool.
At the same time I kind veiw Perfect Circle and Tool to be many other things like Progressive. Also Korn, System of A Down, and Papa Roach along with a lot of Linkin Parks stuff is Nu Metal.
Also I think the only way you could ever mistake Five Finger for alternate metal is if you've only heard songs like Wrong Side of Heaven and Bad Company. |

What you consider alt metal is obviously not alt metal, and I don't listen to those bands often, but they're better than half the crap out there today. |

Also, in regards to the bands you listed being alt. metal, most of them aren't, and stop arguing with Ben, an actual metal fan, on what is and is not alt. metal. Saying that what he calls alt. metal isn't alt. metal is dumb, he's the real metal fan, his opinion on what is and is not alt. metal is more valid than yours. |

I listen to bands like Our Lady Peace, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice In Chains, Sponge, 311, Jane's Addiction, Blind Melon, Radiohead, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Muse, R.E.M, The Smashing Pumpkins, Weezer, The White Stripes, Stone Temple Pilots, Queens Of The Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, etc. as well. |

You don't have to be a metal fan to know that they are alternative metal bands. If not, then what are they? Heavy Metal? Lol. No. Motorhead and Judas Priest are heavy metal. Nu metal? No. Slipknot and Mushroomhead are nu metal bands. Black metal? No. Not even. They are alternative metal. |

I can tell you that most of those bands aren't alt. metal. Five Finger Death Punch for instance, they are most definitely not alt. metal. They are groove metal, which is a subgenre of thrash metal. Rob Zombie and White Zombie are also groove metal, with some industrial influences. Linkin Park, Korn, Staind, and Papa Roach are nu metal. Tool is progressive metal. Seether is not a metal band, period. I'm not even sure if Incubus counts as metal either. The rest of those bands are alt. metal.
Also, Motorhead is speed metal. |

lets see, we have post-grunge, mainstream grunge, buttrock, and about five actual alt metal bands (which is stretching it a bit).

most of them aren't metal at all, those that you did list are mostly nu-metal and hard rock. just a few were actually alt metal. also, Slipknot past their first studio album is actual alt metal. on the subject of sub-genres, Motorhead is speed metal and Mushroomhead, when they are metal, are mostly industrial metal. |
