Are my difficulties in breathing due to me hitting my chest like that guy on Wolf of Wall street? ||[Winter is rising ]||[ I am the Lich King.]|| Cue the music https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n6WP9qHyRM

@phamto well i'm in high school right now, but i'll probably for either computer or biomedical engineering, business, or accounting. (if I do business, I'll become a paramedic - that'd just be a fallback degree) @winter yeah that's possible, but if you have chronic breathing issues i'ma need a few more details just to make sure it's nothing you need to get checked out (i.e., how long it's been going on, if it's harder to breathe in or out, what happened when it started, etc.) @kevin take a pain reliever and decongestant, and drink lots of water. - your friendly neighborhood medical nerd

So rarely, I woke up in the morning and cough and my chest feels like someone is hitting it with a hammer It usually last less than a week then it goes away Any ideas how this happens?

I also have breathing problems, for no reason as I'm perfectly healthy; I've also been to the doctor twice about it, (ER) and they haven't told me legit anything. (Meaning, I have no asthma, chest problems, etc.) My breathing problems started after I had this terrible, terrible, and I mean TERRIBLE lung infection/virus two years ago that I missed 2 weeks of school because of. They prescribed me only a pro-air albuterol inhaler (that treats asthma sufferers). I believe my breathing problems are due to probably allergies I've developed, (cats- I own 3) as I have terrible sinuses and sneeze like 100 times once I wake up in bed in the morning and at random times. Anyways, do you think this virus could have screwed something up with my respiratory system? Or the inhaler I started to take? Thanks

@luscelle how often do you use the inhaler, and have you tried going a week or so without it? - your friendly neighborhood medical nerd

I get frequent chest colds and right now I'm using it almost daily with 4-8 hour intervals (because right now I have a chest cold)

okay, here's what I want you to do first, get some vitamin C supplements. It'll help your immune system. then, stop using the inhaler for a couple days. Send me a PM when you stop using it, then another PM the day after detailing whether or not your breathing issues improve, and then another message the day after with another update. Albuterol can cause breathing issues in some cases. (kinda ironic since it's a medication to help breathing issues, lol) of course if you stop using the inhaler and you think you need to use it because of whatever, definitely feel free to do so - your friendly neighborhood medical nerd
