Would you think she wants attention? Or would you actually believe her?

sure, i'd believe it. depression is a real thing. most times when people mention their problems online there's a bit of an acknowledgement that they don't talk about their issues in reality, because they don't want to trouble anyone, and less people on the internet care.

The thing is this is how most people see me. But I will NOT come out being like "I have depression!!" I tell OT my problems and it's helpful because I can't really tell people I know because I don't trust anyone. don't forget ABOUBOUBOUBOUBOUBOUT me

It is not our problem. The individual is valueless to our lives and has no meaning. She is pitiful scum that should be cleansed from the gene-pool.

well yep because it's highly likely and if she is just attention seeking, clearly she is not getting attention and feeling upset so she probably does have it

"sure, i'd believe it. depression is a real thing. most times when people mention their problems online there's a bit of an acknowledgement that they don't talk about their issues in reality, because they don't want to trouble anyone, and less people on the internet care. " exactly as someone with clinically diagnosed moderate-severe depression, i guess i understand what some of you are saying about "if they have it they wouldnt mention it", but that's not really a universal truth. talking about things like mental health or really personal thoughts on the internet is a lot easier than talking about things like that irl. it's a less personal way to say what you're feeling

"people with depression don't usually talk about it" this is VERY VERY VERY VERY partially true people with depression don't normally talk to people face-to-face about it, because they don't want to spread their problems, make people too sympathetic for them, don't want to see like they're attention hogging, etc. HOWEVER online, using anonymous accounts (which can be roblox, tumblr, reddit, etc) people are more likely to open up about it because they know that nobody that sees it knows who they are. that being said, this is what brought in the romanticization of depression and other mental issues - people originally cared a lot about people who were saying that they have depression on the internet. however, once the attention hogs discovered this, people realized that it's sometimes bullcrap - then they started to assume that it's always bullcrap - your friendly neighborhood medical nerd

check to see if she does have depression itself, and ask her if she is taking any medication to help her with it. if not, as her why and if she gives me the "oh my doctor won't let me!!" excuse i'll just write it off as attention seeking and be on my way "If you can hear this whispering you are dying."

Normally someone else got there first, and I don't want to stress them too much. Even if I could help, I have a really low self esteem and probably can't help them. Spooky, scary skeletons send shivers down your spine~
