so i'm one of those people who likes to post on youtube comments and stuff...
here's what i said about russia:
"
As an average American citizen, I don't hate Russia.
I actually love Russia... Russia is absolutely incredible...
Russia during the cold war was a terror, and a drive... They pushed us to go one step further, to find new technological advancements, to be better than them. They were worthy competition, and still are. We raced them with them and against them to space, and both took home trophies from it, first people in space and first people on the moon. Thats incredible, and we did all of that in competition with them; that's insane and kind of amazing... No I don't hate Russia because I can't think of any other country that has held it's own technologically against America. I don't know of any other country that was a big enough reason to go above and beyond, to go to space.... They are a HUGE reason why America is at the technological point we are at today, we would be nowhere near where we are without Russia. I love Russia because they are a tremendously important country to America" |

Well I'm pretty sure there's some bitterness left over from the cold war. Plus we generally disagree on how to handle foreign policy. These things are expected but that doesn't mean we shouldn't work to improve it. |

it sucks because i know trump likes putin and putin likes trump, and i just want america and russia to be best friends cause imagine what we could both do together if we worked together. |

Mostly it's the issue with World War II, them beating the Germans, the cold war, them beating them in the cold war.
And the different systems both nations have, and their stance on things.
Which is why Russia tries their friggin hardest at the Olympics.
It's really just a bitterness between two nations.
But Russia holds more of a grudge it seems, considering they've lost quite a bit to us. |

but russia did have a favorable view of america until we did that stipend thing or whatever that didn't allow them to do something
like 70-80% had a positive opinion in 2012 but after that it lowered to 30% |

Well, times are changing, and more opinions are also spreading, more people want to keep things alive that Russia isn't favorable for.
Like capitalism, it's just becoming more widespread.
Plus with all the war and stuff, and also Canada and other people from other countries are trash talking america, and their jumping in on it.
That's just my two cents though, I'm not trying to claim it as it is the flawless evidence of why.
Just my opinion on why it might be,
