Sounds like me during finals week (then again, every week is like finals week in nursing school). Coffee/espresso and sugar/carb-free Rockstar are my best friends. PS: ASAPScience has a pretty good video on what happens physiologically when we don't sleep. Current theories suggest that sleep is a way for the brain to clean itself of metabolic byproducts that accumulate during the waking hours, so some pretty interesting psychological things happen when you don't sleep (off the top of my head, altered perception/hallucinations is one).
