They say that, although a long part of America's history, having two seperate currencies with easily calculable exchange rates (cents and dollars) will be confusing to first-time users of money. They also think that people shouldn't get the daily bonus of stopping in the street to notice that somebody dropped a dime because it's a drain on the economy and it makes everything free. Additionally, because most transactions happen with dollars, they think that smaller denominations of money are pointless.
To compensate for the loss of cents, the government is going to be giving free hats to everyone. Because, y'know, that makes sense. |
