I think that there should be a 'Remove All' button in your friends' list, because you need to start afresh again.
The only way to wipe out your friends list COMPLETELY is to go to all of their profiles, which for me, takes too long.
Also, you could add a tick box (like what they have in @live's inbox) to keep some of your very dear friends, and remove some of the others that just friend request you as soon as you join the server.
