I agree Glover I wish they would do this but I understand some reasons why they don't. My brother and I are working on a game, and we find these cool ways to manipulate objects and have it really particle heavy for some parts. Sadly he has a stronger computer, so when we build the game on his computer and I script it on my laptop what we end up seeing is very different. And because of this dramatic difference in game quality we have two options now. Either make it lower for others to play it; or continue to make it the same way and only for higher end computers. I still need to optimize my scripts so that may make the game more playable, but still the physical rendering of objects is causing a lot of playing difficulties. Having a reflect any that actually reflected what was truly in the environment would be amazing, but I can see how this would be a problem for some people. Especially concidering not everyone on Roblox has a GPU card instead of the CPU/GPU stuff you see a lot today. I would assume that a GPU would be needed for real time rendering and creation of textures for the reflectancy of objects. Since reflections right now are just the skybox texture with a high brightness added to them.
If TL;DR I just explained how this big difference in graphics rendering on different computers make games harder to make with everyone getting a similar playing experience. |
