Over the last few months I've developed a habit of going to check the mailbox more than my parents, and my parents forgot to check the mailbox for the last 4 days, so it filled up and among all the mail I picked up, there was my admission packet. I LITERALLY RAN HOME AND YELLED OUT "HOLY #### I NEED TO OPEN THIS MAIL RIGHT NOW, HOLY #### #### ##### and scared the living crap out of my parents this morning lol |

Ikr bung
I got pretty average grades (SLIGHTLY above average) and I've been admitted to some good schools so I'm pretty alright with how things worked out |
|

I'm still in shock but you can't see it lol |

Thought this was interesting--got a letter from UC Santa Barbara today, not just any old college mail about "Apply to our school!!1" but about a special event honoring the "top applicants." I went to the link that was on the invite and yes, in fact, it's a special event held in 5 different areas of the country for select students. I don't think I'm gonna go, but it's cool that I got it. UC Berkeley accepted some students early yesterday (a few kids from my school got in) so maybe I got into UCSB...? From their website though:
Q: Does this mean I have been admitted? Who was invited to the reception?
A: Your invitation does not indicate that you have been admitted. However, invitations were only sent to our highest achieving applicants in select regions. |

nice, I have faith in you, if I got into UT Austin you can get into Berkeley! |

Dude, you seriously gave me some hope. Like I said, when I read your post, my jaw literally dropped, this must be a dream come true for you |
|

It is a dream-come-true
Literally there is nothing else in my life that can top this except perhaps for a marriage and children
This blew getting my first car right out of the water |

~2,000 people were accepted into Berkeley yesterday, the "top 2000." There was a 0% chance of me making that, but it's pretty neat to see people from my school getting in. Some guy got in for computer science...-rages- |

god good luck jimbo, really. i won't have to be in your position for another two years, but i would be pretty devastated if i was rejected from all 𝘮𝘺 𝘵𝘰𝘱 3 𝘜𝘊 picks

I think my satisfaction with decisions rests largely on UC Davis. I am fine with denial considering it's Berkeley, but Davis...that would be a doozy if they denied me |

Since you've all done it before:
Tips on required personal essays pls |

2 things: 1. CONGRATULATIONS SIRRRR!!!!!! I HOPE YOU LOVE IT =D I know 1 peep who is an actor there but is currently # sophomore 2. I never received anything from UCSB Jimbo and was accepted so I would assume unless the unthinkable happens you're in. |

After reading the article and knowing the 2,000 were for reagents/chancellors, those are REALLY difficult to get at any ## other than the bottom ones. Partly why I chose USF is they made the price the same ## # ## and # lil ### cheaper plus I got smaller class sizes / semester system and those were big factors. The likelihood of anyone getting into # top ## is pretty big, but with reagents/chancellors that's astronomical tbh. |

If you don't mind me asking tiny, how much are you paying per year for USF? |
|
|
Do you want the price including room and board + meal plan? |

yea, everything cause #### are around $30,000 |
|
|
Right now servers are down due to maintenance from 11:30-2am so tomorrow morning, evening, or night I will give you the data. I was hoping using # link from ## ##### would bypass it but no it's all shutdown. I believe I'm around 30-32k ## # rough estimate but I know Squik is cheaper than me for his major and has # lower scholarship. |

Asdf quarter system is actually gonna suck
2 week winter break vs 4 weeks for semester (the time lost for quarter schedule will be put somewhere else probably, but I prefer a longer winter break) |

Um...as soon as I say that, I find an article saying the 2016-17 school year will start having 4 week winter break
IT'S LIT |
|
|
UCs get 4 weeks Jimbo. ######## usually give 5.5 |
|
|
Quarters: Start later, shorter winter break, end later
Semesters: Start early, longer winter break, end earlier
|
|
|
congrats sir
update
Accepted
RM University
Kutztown University
Seton Hall University
Differed to Regular Admission
Ithaca College
Denied
Albright College
Waiting
Wilson College
Temple University
Chestnut Hill College
right now out of the places I've been accepted to I'd be going to Kutztown because it's the cheapest based on the financial aid package I got but if I get into Wilson or Temple they could end up being cheaper
