Below are the codes used when on the radio, with their definitions.
State Codes:
0 - Emergency, Officer Needs Assistance
1 - On Duty
2 - Available / Resuming patrol
3 - Available / In Office
4 - Refreshments
5 - En route to incident
6 - At scene
7 - Committed but deployable
8 - Unavailable and not deployable
9 - Prisoner escort
10 - At court
11 - Off duty
12 - Confidential message
13 - Call back
14 - Urgent call
15 - Received
16 - Repeat
Identification Codes:
IC-1 - White English, Scandinavian, or Germanic
IC-2 - Mediterranean European/Hispanic
IC-3 - Black, African/Afro-Caribbean
IC-4 - Asian
IC-5 - Oriental (typically Chinese, Japanese, or South-East Asian person
IC-6 - Arab/North African
IC-7 - Other (such as an incident where the person is described wearing a helmet or balaclava)
Incident Grades:
A/HP - Visual warning equipment advised; immediate response. Target time: 60 seconds
B/MP - Visual warning equipment advised if driver believes police are needed urgently; significant/routine response. Target time: 4 minutes
C/LP - Visual warning equipment not required; scheduled appointments; no target time
Response Grades:
I - Immediate response required where life is at risk, serious injury has occurred, there is a serious road traffic collision, or a major crime has been committed.
II - Urgent response where road traffic exemptions may be utilised along with audible and visual warning equipment.
III - Non-urgent response where audio and visual equipment does not need to be used.
IV - Appointment scheduled
