Disclaimer: This thread is for voicing legitimate concerns about the current state of the moderation system. I have the fullest respect for the moderation team, but I feel there are some things that need to be looked at. Also, there is not any real place to voice concerns, so I am kind of forced to post it here.I will be sending this thread, and its content, to mods as I see fit. While the moderation system does have it's place, there is the occasionally tendency for people to get ridiculous and ludicrous bans for silly reasons. For instance, my main a few days ago got a 1 dayer for posting song lyrics. They weren't even bad song lyrics. In fact they were by weird al, quite humorous actually. Somehow song lyrics is a banable offence for "Inappropriate behavior." A week ago someone got a ban for talking about how he was learning another language. One of my alts got termed for asking for girl advice on OT. It got a "dating is not allowed on roblox," even though I clearly stated it was real life. Also, on certain occasions, in the occasionally political debate, the mods have a tendency to be extremely biased. One time I got in a multipage argument over something trivial. I was not disrespectful in my argument, I was not bigoted nor racist, yet only my side of the argument was moderated, merely because it was dissent, it went against the majority opinion on the subject. The point is, sometimes the mods give out ridiculous bans. So how do we fix this? The appeals email needs to be replaced with a "review moderation" button. Move the appeals team over to take care of the traffic from the new button, and the mods can help with it as well. A 2nd opinion on a subject can make a huge difference, as mods can and do have their off days, and to be frank, sometimes their judgement can be off. They are people to, it happens. Along with that review button, have text space for explaining why you think the moderation was unfair. Now, by replacing the appeals team with a button, there will be a lot more traffic from people trying to appeal moderation, so, to offset that somewhat, if someone requests a review for a blatantly obvious offense, the reviewer can extend the length of the moderation by a fixed amount. This new system will allow for a quick and honest second opinion on some of the ridiculous bans that do have a tendency to happen, and will allow everyone who were unfairly banned a chance at having the moderation decision reversed. Comments, criticism, and questions are welcome, I will try to get to them all in a timely manner. Thanks! *Exhibit A: /kfRUFUv (i.m.g.u.r)

"i'm very sorry, but is there a tl;dr version of this" No, if people want to understand the reasoning behind this suggestion, then read the entire thing. It is not even that long.

The problem with moderation now is that the new moderators don't know anything about what's good or bad, so they just warn/ban anyone that they personally find wrong.

"The problem with moderation now is that the new moderators don't know anything about what's good or bad, so they just warn/ban anyone that they personally find wrong." Pretty much, which is one of the reasons I am suggesting this. It greatly simplifies the appeals process. I sent this thread to several mods and they all ignored it. qq

Is there maybe a shorter version of this? I really don't care enough to read ALL of that. You know what you look like I can trust you, support.

Since I appears people are lazy, I suppose I will make a tl;dr. Mods screw up sometimes, replace appeals with a "request moderation review" button.

support and for all the people saying 'omg make a tl;dr version' At least you're not just being an idiot and saying 'tl;dr' (no one cares!!!) but also, sometimes it's hard to sum up a complicated thing in a little bite sized piece.

I did read it. I support. Plus this would get rid of the annoying wait times and the verification attempts. R$214 The moment Roblox does what you want and not what you need, is the day that Roblox dies. -ArchKnight99

"if your talking about taking a job as a forum mod cause if you are the don't apply for forum and if you want to get a job at roblox you need to fill in some details in corp.roblox" Please learn to read. Anyway, some other ideas came to me last night as I was listening to a thunderstorm, particularly about the political bias of the mods. They have a tendency to only censor political opinions they disagree with, which is extremely unfair. Instead of banning people for minor political posts, the mods should just lock the thread for politics. The other is that, I don't know if roblox has this system in place, but it would be interesting to see the statistics of which mods have the most bans appealed, i.e. a mod does 5 bans and 4 of those bans are successfully appealed, that may show that mod isn't doing his or her job correctly. Not all mods are bad, but there are a few bad apples that make the experience for everyone terrible. Now on to more ridiculous bans, a friend of mine got a warning for saying "and I hate certain things women do, but it is part of life, no?" in response to "I don't hate men, I just hate what men do." Guess which one didn't get deleted. Once I get more feed back on this forum I will compile it all into a new one.

Also, while I am thinking about it, I want to post something from the forum rules for the mod that wants to delete this thread, because I know you are out there. "We do want to hear feedback about the moderation system – post it in the Suggestions and Ideas forum."
