Also ODing has never been clearly defined. Is saying "123 for bf" ODing or bad roleplaying? Is pretending to start a family "ODing or roleplaying" An equal amount of people would say ODing as much as they would say roleplaying.
You don't even know exactly what ODing is, so how tf would you ban people for it? All you people do is complicate things by spewing all this ODer hatred and you can't even identify all the ODers; it's not possible.
ROBLOX does the thing that makes the most sense: follow the Terms and Conditions. Because ACTUAL offensive ODing breaks the Terms and Conditions. When people pretend to "do it" and flood the chat with badly faked --- noises, that's against the Terms & Conditions. When people start flirting nastily towards each other, that breaks the Terms & Conditions. You already have your ODer repellent; it's called the Terms & Conditions, and it works. Report them for breaking the Terms & Conditions.
The reason you don't want to is because you're up at arms against things that don't even count as ODing. Roleplay dating isn't the same as online dating because online dating is when they actually develop a romantic relationship that is outside of the game, but they only communicate inside the game. Roleplay dating isn't online dating because pretending to date to entertain yourself in a life sim isn't the same as actually dating. Bikinis, ab shirts and bra shirts aren't universally used by online daters, so you wouldn't universally remove them from games. "Adopt and raise a baby" is not an online dating game; it's a life and dating sim. Those are fine as long as they don't break the Terms & Conditions. The developer doesn't have responsibility for what people do in their game because they can't control it. ODer groups don't break the Terms & Conditions because they don't harm anybody, but ODer hater groups do because they spread hatred; that's why they're removed. Not because "ROBLOX supports odering!11!1!!!!1!" And there's no script that can completely remove ODing. It's impossible!
All of these things don't stop ODing, and instead hurt the catalog, hurt the games page, hurt clothing and place developers, hurt group owners, and weaponize places. And it still doesn't solve any problems. It would barely deter it.
The fact of the matter is that ROBLOX is neutral on ODing. Idgaf and they dgaf about ODing. I couldn't care less. They couldn't care less. This is as childish as staying away from girls because they have cooties and staying away from boys because they pick their noses. It's beneath them. The fact of the matter is you're allowed to do whatever you want as long as you don't break the Terms & Conditions. It is possible to OD without breaking the Terms & Conditions, and that form of ODing is so harmless that if you want to get rid of it, it's YOUR problem.
You guys truly hate "ODers"? Then you make the anti-ODer scripts. You find a way to remove roleplaying games. You find a way to stop people from making bikinis, ab shirts and bra shirts. But you can't make ODer hater groups, just like you can't make Scammer hater groups. ROBLOX isn't about hatred. It won't make not one difference in the end even if you somehow got ROBLOX involved. You can't permanently get rid of ODers, all you can do is create an environment hostile to them. And I don't support making ROBLOX a hostile environment for any group.
But of course you're probably like 10 or something. Why don't you do something worthwhile and start your Pokemon journey or ss you 10 year old?

This. Oding can't be pinpointed to a couple behaviors that can actually be banned, because there are none that are purely "oding" in nature. People can't even agree on one definition for it.
What people can do is report based off of breaking the T&C, which already eliminates all the inappropriate behaviors that come with "oding". Reporting based off the T&C eliminates letch behaviors and sharing real info. If you still have a problem, you just hate the idea of romanticism in general, and that's your own problem. It's not ROBLOX's obligation to get involved with your insecurities unless someone is breaking the T&C.
Take your own measures (as long as they don't break the T&C). Get over yourself. ROBLOX doesn't need to become a warzone because you're uncomfortable that some noob said "123 for a bf" on a ROBLOX High School game a few minutes ago.
Plus I have a odd feeling that this is bait, and if it is we all fell for it fantastically. |
