There is always the classics. i.e. Vanguard, Legionaire, Operative, Guardian.
Also you can use like a title before a rank like Purely used Ceph Guardian. |

Im not seeing ranks like that within a military aspect, especially mage or archmage as providence doesnt delve into alchemy or the sorts. We deal with science. |
