laffydecious & DevelopingCodes for Governor and Lieutenant Governor of Firestone
You can find a bullet-point version of our agenda in the conclusion!
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Foreword
It’s a privilege for me to have the opportunity to share with you all what DevelopingCodes and I have planned for Firestone over the next four months. This term promises to be a very exciting one: the beginning of what is, I hope, a very successful time for the State of Firestone.
But I believe that we need a Governor and Lieutenant Governor capable of working with people to create a stronger, freer, more flexible government, so I do hope that you’ll be able to take out the time to read our agenda.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Cabinet
We believe that it is necessary for us to be able to dictate the direction in which a department follows with help and advice from those involved within department: as such, it should be our priority to ensure we’re working with department directors to set realistic and progressive weekly targets.
Organisation right across the board is something that needs to happen if we want an altogether stronger administration: ensuring that all cabinet members are actually doing something productive on a daily basis isn’t necessarily an easy task, but if we’re setting workable targets for members of our administration to be completed on a weekly basis then we’re sure to see this term go more or less without a hitch. These goals should be clearly and consistently outlined for members of the public to view on a weekly basis, and for members of the cabinet to be able to organise their work on a Trello board accessible by all cabinet members.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Constitution and Bill of Rights
Our main priority would be to, in the first weeks of our term, see a Constitution and Bill of Rights be approved. These documents would necessarily have to be extensive and all-inclusive, so we have no plans to leave anyone out of the consultation and writing process. We see it as our obligation to write the Constitution and Bill of Rights and to take on-board advice from all other relevant departments.
Ultimately, we want to be able to have a well-written, incredibly comprehensive Constitution and Bill of Rights to ensure that we are building a very strong framework for Firestone itself.
It is also important that this Constitution is something that can be built on and improved upon: we see it as our duty to be able to present an excellent Constitution and Bill of Rights - having consulted many people on its creation - that is flexible and gives clear provisions for the House of Representatives and the Senate to propose progressive amendments in future.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Justice
Alongside working closely with the Department of Justice in writing the Constitution, it’s equally important that we have a functioning judicial system. This means ensuring we have a judicial branch that works for everyone. Presently, the State of Firestone has the Department of Justice, but not a Judicial Branch that is ready to get to work as soon as the next Governor and Lieutenant Governor enter office.
We have a Department of Justice, we have an Attorney General -- we do not have our Chief Court Justice, we do not presently have a structure for the “Firestone Courts” - as the group is titled - that is ready for use.
As such, we will be proposing the following structure for the “Firestone Courts” group:
(Founder)
=> Firestone Governors
=> Chief Court Justice
=> Associate Justices of the Supreme Court
=> Justice Advisor
=> Appeal Justice
=> Court Justice
=> Firestone Citizen
The Chief Court Justice would be responsible for overseeing the Judicial Branch alongside his or her Associate Justices of the Supreme Court. Furthermore, to ensure we have a system which is neither overstretched nor too saturated with ranks, it would be necessary to have two Justice Advisors: each one assigned to either the Appeal Justices or Court Justices to ensure they receive regular and proper training.
Our commitment to high standards within the Department of Justice and the Judicial Branch is something both DevelopingCodes and I really believe in, so we’re hoping that you can place your trust in us and vote for us on election day. We can build an outstanding judicial system, but only with your help.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Public Safety
We believe that it’s important for us to work alongside the Secretary for the Department of Public Safety to ensure that we have very strong law enforcement, fire and medical operations within Firestone: setting the Secretary achievable weekly goals as part of our commitment to build a very strong and flexible cabinet agenda, but also to have clear dialogue with these departments in times of emergency to ensure that we’re doing all we can.
I have a lot of confidence in the people chosen to lead these departments and I’m sure I’ll find it very easy to build on the existing relationships I have with many of them. An administration where the State Patrol, Sheriff's Office, Fire Department and Department of Corrections can all maintain contact with each other when necessary and with the government will surely prove to be a very strongly bound administration.
Working with these departments to make Firestone safer, to constantly be improving the standards of policing, fire and medical operations and to make crucial decisions with the input of these departments is the way we want to be running Firestone.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Public Works & Transportation
We are confident that we have Public Works and Transportation in good hands and see them going in the right direction under the guidance of this government and through the unity inside the department.
Again, both departments would follow our weekly cabinet objectives and I am absolutely convinced that as long as we remain organised, we can make Public Works and Transportation two departments that can absolutely work for the better of Firestone.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Commerce
It’s also incredibly important that we remain committed to making it easier for people to start their own businesses within Firestone and to make it faster to do so. There are already plenty of opportunities for people to find a job in Firestone, and by encouraging the growth of the private sector we will see Firestone become a fantastic place for everyone from everywhere to come.
Under our administration, the Department of Commerce will be working with us to ensure that we are attracting both home-grown businesses and businesses elsewhere.
▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬
Conclusion
Thank you for taking the time to read our agenda for the coming term: if you didn’t get the opportunity to read all of it, here it is:
=> Weekly cabinet goals, strong organisation and communication between departments
=> Constitution and Bill of Rights to be written alongside Department of Justice
=> Judicial Branch with a strong support system
=> Strong foreign policy and competent Secretary of State
=> Maintenance of National Guard and appropriate use of powers
=> Working with Homeland Security to see the department always improving
=> Alongside Department of Public Safety & police, medical and fire operations work to ensure a safer Firestone and stronger response in emergencies
=> Commit to improving Public Works & Transportation with developers and making it a viable and attractive career opportunity for people
=> Work with Department of Commerce to design a business policy to allow many businesses to come to Firestone
=> Work with Department of Health to encourage roleplay and build a worthwhile and sustainable healthcare system
DevelopingCodes and I hope that you like our agenda, and we sincerely hope that you’ll support us by voting for us on election day and by supporting us below.
