Flipping the bat as emphatically as he did is pretty much showboating, as is admiring your shot. The humble thing to do is drop your bat, duck your head, and run around the bases. Admiring your homerun is viewed as an insult to the pitcher, as well.

If you don't like it, then don't give him a ball he can hit out of the park. Simple as that. RIP Koolboy123, Oct. 1, 1992-Apr. 27, 2016 ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

Good Watch that sh*t sail over the fence because I just ruined your night and you suck Now get better and learn to deal with losing -------------------------------------------------- Exactly. As a baseball player, I'd feel pretty proud about hitting a home run and I'd love to see it all the way through.

Honestly I don't know why Bautista went after Odor for what the pitcher did. I know it's the "all for 1, 1 for all" thing but it was the pitcher's doing not Odor's.

Probably because if he goes after the pitcher a brawl is guaranteed, he wasn't trying to cause the dugouts to clear (and get ejected in a tight game). RIP Koolboy123, Oct. 1, 1992-Apr. 27, 2016 ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

"If you don't like it, then don't give him a ball he can hit out of the park. Simple as that." You do know that not every pitch goes precisely where the pitcher wants it to go, right?

Well that's too bad for him, maybe he should get it to go where he wants it to be next time. RIP Koolboy123, Oct. 1, 1992-Apr. 27, 2016 ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

"Well that's too bad for him, maybe he should get it to go where he wants it to be next time." It seems you lack the ability to comprehend that every pitcher grooves a fastball, or hangs a curveball every once in a while. They didn't want to do it, but they messed up their released point or some mechanic in their motion.

So that means that a batter - who has an extremely difficult job of hitting the ball perfectly on the barrel - shouldn't be able to celebrate just because of a pitching mistake? That has to be one of the stupidest things I've heard. If a player screws up in another sport and it results in a goal/points/whatever, the other team is still allowed to celebrate without having to fear retaliation such as a 97mph fastball to the head. Baseball is really the only sport of significant stature in which celebration is so muffled because the players aren't able to handle getting outplayed. I am not saying they shouldn't be able to, I'm just saying the better and more selfless thing to do would be to celebrate inside the dugout, not in front of the opposing team. You go ahead and flip the bat, more power to ya, but I just don't think it was the correct thing to do in the situation.

And there are plenty of homeruns hit off pitches that WEREN'T mistakes, and those are the ones that are examples of excellent hitting.

The Toronto Blue Jays were down 2-0 in the series, losing two games on home turf. They head to hostile territory, tie it up, and fall behind after Martin's throw off Choo's bat was ruled to be a live ball. He didn't want to lose that way, the fans didn't want to lose that way, and the game had just been tied up at three and the crowd is delirious. It's the type of moment players dream of being in, the chance to elevate themselves into the clubs history as a legend. It was his first playoff game and he had been the star player of a mediocre team that is an outsider because it's in Canada. His chance to shine. He murdered the ball into the second deck, in the bottom of the seventh, in a tie game, at home, in an elimination game. How the HELL can you seriously say that a celebration isn't justified there? I was there (no I didn't throw trash, and shame on the fans that did), the crowd went absolutely ballistic and his celebration was almost tame compared to the energy in the building. Obviously there is a time and a place for bat flips, but this was completely justified and I don't get why people are so mad at it, it's not like he was doing it to disrespect the Rangers. It was a celebration of a huge game-changing play, not a "HAHA IN YOUR FACE YOU SUCK" thing. RIP Koolboy123, Oct. 1, 1992-Apr. 27, 2016 ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ

What happened, happened. What he did, he did. I don't care anymore, I just simply believe there were other ways to approach his celebration - just wait until you get into your dugout to go ballistic.

rangers fans are literally still just salty that we destroyed them in the alds last year and are trying to blow anything bautista does way out of proportion people slide to break up double plays all the time, odor has done it before, and bautista barely touched him flipping your bat and watching the ball are things that literally like 90% of baseball players do after they hit a home run the difference between hell & home樹海
