Why do people hate games because of the fanbase?

I understand if the game in question is a multiplayer game like Overwatch or TF2. But who would ever say that Undertale is bad JUST because of the community? That's as stupid as saying "UGH, STANLEY PARABLE IS SO BAD BECAUSE THE COMMUNITY IS LE CANZER!!!!!" The only reason why you would hate the community for singleplayers games is if you go on tumblr, or something like that. to be fair anyone who actively uses tumblr is f'ed up. because how can you discuss a game you like when the entire community is cancer also undertale is already a bad game so it didnt need a bad fanbase

if a lot of people ask you to play a game in a certain way it can make them not want to play it i think a lot of people dont want to play witcher because of op

A fanbase can have some effects on enjoyment of a singleplayer game. F.e, spoilers, "You're playing the game wrong! Do X path first because it's easier!", etc.
