why can't gear slots stay the way they were arranged?

I'm tired of having to rearrange my gears to the way I'm comfortable with every single time I die! and if somebody ambushes me while I'm rearranging my gears I have to make pain-inflicting stretches with my hand just to equip that gear!! I'm tired of this!!! >:#

@pinky my hands are a bit small, and I'm in my early teens, I'm not an adult and this is not what this thread is completely about! it mainly focus's on the fact that I have to rearrange all my gears EVERY TIME I DIE!!
