at around 8:05, the PA came on and said we were in a lockdown.
right off the bat i started to doubt that this was a drill since testing was supposed to be taking place. my friend was told to go home when she came to school late and told me there were 3 cop cars and an unmarked car in front of the admin building. she also told me she'd heard that someone had a gun on campus.
about 3 hours into the lockdown (yes, i stayed in one room laying against a concrete wall for 3 hours), i was told we were going to be searched. the people that searched us didn't show up until about 12:30, nearly 4.5 hours into the lockdown.
after they searched us, we were released to go eat lunch, which at that point i learned that there was no gun, and that some asshat somehow freaked out over a cell phone.
a cell phone.
i wasted 4 hours of my life sitting in a cold room with people who would not STFU, because some imbecile freaked out over a ####ing cell phone.
i've lost all faith in humanity at this point.

During the Sandy Hook attack my school went under lockdown the whole day |

I can tell this was frustrating, honestly the drills are there for a reason. (don't blame you for the day you've had)
Honestly I'd rather be locked in a room with a bunch of morons rather than get shot. |

i was also told at some point by the teacher i was with that a SWAT team had been deployed, but i never saw any SWAT members

yes if there is a threat of a shooting or a gun in the building their obviously going to deploy the swat team to disarm the threat |

this isn't even the first time i've gone into a lockdown for something stupid.
in 7th grade i was in a lockdown for 2.5-3 hours because some girl tried to be an attention ##### and faked herself getting stabbed. she later told the cops that she "just wanted to go home".

I live near a school that has lockdowns every month, whether it's a fake gun scandal or someone bringing weed.
It's better to have stupid scandals than a real emergency I guess. (From what I've learned from the school that's a mile from me.) |

that happened last year i was in german and there were 30 minutes left of class and they put us on lockdown we couldnt leave until 4 and we were searched it was disappointing
also we had german exchange students so it was funny to see their reaction lol
