Dear ROBLOXians and Admins,
As you can see, the title of this thread is going to talk all about the new chat update. Instead of having "Petitions" being put out by the community, perhaps we can say the flaws that we see with this new feature that makes the 13+ Chat very strict. I have PM'd an Admin named Aragnok for his input on this common issue for all players in the community. I do ask for you all to hear me out before anyone turns their head away from this thread.
Message to our Admins:
Dear Admins,
Speaking on behalf of a lot of 13+ users, we do wish you consider making the chat less strict. Allow me to give you an example: Users cannot even say the numbers 6 through 9 without it being hashtagged (Blocked). The more strict the chat gets, the more creative these 13+ users must become to get their message across without seeing "#################" the whole time. I have been playing this game for quite some time now. Since 2008, to be exact. None of you need to know my story because I'm sure you have enough in your logs in the ROBLOX HQ. I am not going to quit this game and move onto another just because of this chat issue. Honestly, It's been ruining 13+ User experiences. I do advise you make a change to this, ROBLOX admins.
Message to fellow ROBLOXians:
Dear ROBLOXians,
Instead of making petitions and whatnot, I advise you make a thread like this, so we can all contribute instead of saying "signed." On top of that, reply to this thread saying what you think should be fixed with this chat system. This has been a short and brief message and to the point. Help us all out by saying what you believe down below.

Support, for the sake of this very strict chat filter ROBLOX's communication is hard to understand, it is making the community angrier and possibly make new players quit Roblox early due to the fact they admit ROBLOX's community was a lot better round about 2011 - 2013.

I support, communication is borderline impossible now. ROBLOX, if someone is over 13 there's nothing we can say that will surprise them. Sure, block out the obvious stuff to stop people from hurling abuse at others, but stop with this crap, okay? You don't need to protect us from ourselves.
(As for the people who lie about their age, screw them. It's their own fault for being dishonest.) |

I agree with the OP. I am so tired of people saying my chats were blocked. On my side, whatever i say shows up normally, then a person on the other side says my entire chat was hashtagged. I usually come up with a way to say it, and the people said, "That got blocked?? Why?". The reason is because there was no need for it to get blocked in the first place! What I said was perfectly fine! It had no bad words, no threats, etc.
So, I am hoping roblox will make the chat system less strict.

And us 13+ people usually are able to put up with foul language, etc. It's not like we are 10 and can't read little cuss words. |

It's not even that cuss words are being filtered, the problem is this thing filters EVERYTHING! I can't even be sent a Youtube link via PM. |
