Support, this is the most important rule that needs to be added to Roblox.

Would it technically be fine under this to copy a shirt/pants item that is quite old (say, from more than 5 years ago) and is offsale? Example (Is offsale, and was created in 2008): https://www.roblox.com/--item?id=1895709 Just asking because the example is the only clothing item I copied (but is NOT for sale). Officially going above 4K. | Just your average OTer

There is no flaw in the website. The system is working as intended. For various technical reasons, ROBLOX is never going to disable access to the asset page because everyone needs to be able to access the image for them to see your clothing in game.

They should probably just make it so that if you right click there's no option to copy the image. That's probably how they should fix the problem. But yes, there's also what zacharyz said. You could copy an item that's off sale but only keep it for yourself instead of making profit off of something you didn't make.

um no support also you copied that clothes from imckane007 probably also this is capitalism if you want sales, you advertise, you make sure that people know its ur clothes they should buy deal with it instead of whining to roblox about someone who outsmarted you because they're bettter

^ This is exactly why people don't even CARE about copied clothing.. Umm, Julian, I didn't copy. Please kindly take a look at the creation dates, thank you..

Nothing is going to happen, didn't someone else named Cpn something make a post about this? Nothing happened when she did that and she is well known, It won't matter I believe the website is different from roblox's and I don't think they can attack another website like that, also a right click option for copying removed? You do realize people can use the Snipping tool or Gyazo to get a template even without copying them right? Gotta Go Gaming!

"Umm, Julian, I didn't copy." but you use content that isn't yours, stuff from clothing sites. second worst thing to copying. you have no say in this.

There's a simple solution on ROBLOX's end, just hide the base picture, all you need to do right now to copy clothing is subtract one from the item's ID. Just make it like it is for other types of purchases (hats, gear) and just do away with that.

"just hide the base picture" that's not how it works

Players can't just "Hide the base picture" the only thing "hiding" players is an asset that if you subtract by one a game appears, but that is pretty much it. Gotta Go Gaming!

That is in-fact how it works, a simple solution to this problem is to make it so that players cannot access the base picture. (https://www.roblox.com/St-Patricks-Day-Outfit-Sleeves-item?id=377891079) It's actually that simple, either stop putting the ID -1 images on ROBLOX, or make it so you can't access them.

People like this are just want money, but they are too lazy to come up with their own clothes. So they COPY. This is probably the second biggest issue on roblox right now. Original designers don't deserve to have a bunch of money hungry cloners. A possible solution: A designer can report if they find an outfit that is a copy of theirs, and if the original was made at an earlier date, the other one gets deleted. However, this would have to be automated to be efficient, and this can be exploited unless there's a way for a computer to see that two clothing pieces are similar. Flame war? Pouring water on it now

Legosonic, you NEED to be able to access them. Don't you get it? That image literally is the shirt. That file is what gets downloaded by your client to render people's shirts in game. If you make it impossible to access these images, you will not be able to see ANYONE's clothing at all. Not even the ROBLOX event shirts are safe from this, they just employ some trickery to redirect the asset request to the real image. Here's what I mean using the ROBLOX kung fu shirt: Here's the shirt itself - https://www.roblox.com/Jacket-of-Fury-item?id=424457133 Here's the ID - 1 - https://www.roblox.com/RBXMX-Dory-KungKuShirt-item?id=424457132 Woo, scary, hidden right? Why don't we apply this to ALL clothes? Because this is literally just a text file that redirects to the real asset. You're just a single download and right click away from finding the real image's ID, which is here: https://www.roblox.com/kungfu-item?id=424453698 It is impossible to make this image inaccessible. The end.

If I ever copied any clothing I would make it more expensive (so only rich people will buy it) then i would put a link to the original version of the shirt or pants I copied. I think there would still be hate though. :P

I love copying clothes. Especially when people have rare ones off sale and I can just copy it.
