@Fir3 Roblox wouldn't do that. They'd do an "18+" that can see these words, and have anyone under 18 be in regular chat with the rest of the kids regardless of age. |

@ All the people not for the 16-17 year chat range, I don't care what they do as long as they take that terrible new system away. Since I have other stuff I game with on my PC I downloaded several comms sites years ago anyhow.. |

Right now this is extremely bothersome. Roblox has let me post off site links for a while, allowing me to use youtube tutorials and gooogle docs for my group descriptions. Now it breaks every time I try to update a description, and many unnecessary words are censored.

Corrected grammar version:
You may have been experiencing lots and lots of censored content from other players in-game, and most of these filtered words, as you could probably guess, are not even inappropriate words. The cause is because of ROBLOX using a new filter called Community Sift, which you may recognize as the filter system used for Animal Jam. This filter applies to users 13+ as well. Community Sift is a broken filtering system, even more so than the under-13 filter that was in place before. Sift supposedly filters words or phrases with these qualities:
Bullying
Spam
Self-Harm
Racist hates speech
Fraud
However, Sift blocks ALL words that aren't present in its whitelist. Meaning that if you say a word that isn't in the filter, regardless of if this concept doesn't meet the criteria for being filtered, it comes out as hashtags.
I joined ROBLOX in 2012 to meet new people and have fun. But now whenever I talk to them, they'll reply back "sorry I don't speak hashtags." The moderators cheaped out and gave up on trying to filter the chat themselves, and instead decided to let other people do it for them. But this screen has completely broken the chat system!! This is NOT what ROBLOX needs or deserves. Sign this petition to fix our broken chat filters!
