2) What is the main purpose of the Department of Homeland Security? The Firestone Department of Homeland Security (FHLS) is responsible for statewide security, including protecting Firestone citizens, combating terrorism and protecting government buildings. They are also responsible for the protection of its government officials, and foreign officials visiting the state. The Department of Homeland Security is the state's main defense department against outside threats including enemies of state and terror.
3) What is the difference between the Federal Protective Service and Crisis Response Team, and what do they both do? Federal Protective Service - Often referred to Secret Service of Capitol Security, The Federal Protective Service (FPS), is the agency concerned with protecting, combating and handling attacks against the capitol, and other Government buildings. The FPS also has the duty of protecting high clearance government officials, some are, but not limited to the Governor, Foreign Representatives or Cabinet members. The FPS is a police department. Crisis Response Team - The Crisis Response Team (CRT), is tasked with responding to terror attacks, major shootings, emergencies, hostage situations, and other situations in which the County or State Police may not be able to handle on their own. The CRT may also assist in checkpoints, lockdowns, riots or any situation where extra force is needed. CRT responds to calls that threaten the lives of citizens. If a situation has started, or has involved intervention from homeland security, CRT may pursuit the suspect.
