The previous thread I wrote up had too many details. For all intensive purposes, this is a different idea.
1. The AAA bundle would attempt to give the "complete experience" of Roblox for 60 US dollars, like many other video games. The shape of the packaging would resemble the boxes of AAA titles to make the game look honest and accessible. After buying this bundle, one would simply redeem the code inside. (Like a Robux card, but more inviting)
Imagine for a moment that you've never heard of Roblox, and you see a Roblox game card sitting on a shelf. Will this convince you to look up the game? Does it even look like a game? No. It just looks like a flabby piece of plastic made for people who already play the game.
Imagine that you see a professional box protector presented in a form just like other video games. You might pick it up and read the back, just because this strange game piqued your interest. Heck maybe you'll even buy it.
2. The content of the bundle would probably involve Builder's Club for X months, some Robux to spend, and an exclusive package or something... If the deal is "too good", then restrictions would need to be added on to prevent abuse.
3. Some users hate microtransactions, subscriptions, and paywalls. This includes many big name YouTubers. On Roblox, everyone seems to love microtransactions. Don't let our little slice of the internet fool you, though. Free to play as an income model is despised by many, which probably hurts Roblox's revenue.
(How many times have you been using a site when a paywall suddenly hits you? Are you happy when this happens? Do you continue to use the site, usually? Or do you just click away? Roblox can be like that for new users sometimes)
This bundle is not for experienced users. That's not the point. It's to bring in new people who might otherwise never touch the site.
NOTE: I'm not saying that Roblox's method of doing business is "bad". I'm just saying it can scare people away when they might have really loved the site (and paid good money for the full experience!) |
