Scamming is a big, bad, part of ROBLOX.
Many users are scammed every day, whether they lose robux, items, or even their accounts.
But I, MrEvBlox, may have a few ideas to stop it.
1. 2 Step Verification
What is 2 Step Verification?
It is a system used with many sites to stop people from hacking into other's accounts.
What it does is, after you login, it asks a question only you would know, like:
What is your dogs name?
What is your mother's middle name?
Etc,etc.
How will this stop scamming?
Whoever is the scammer won't know the person personal questions.
What if, along, with the pass, a scammer asks for the questions answer?
That is why their will be 15 possible questions, that switch every day/
What if someone forgets their answer?
That is why after this update, everyone would HAVE to use an email, which would, in itself, would prevent scamming, and email would be needed to reset that question.
2. Censor anything that has to do with free robux, builder's club, etc.
How would this help?
Alot of users who are scammed are promised free robux/builder's club.
If we censored any sentence with robux/builder's club and free aswell as censoring any variation of pass(including it itself!) E.G. pass, p a s s w o r d, pass word, passcode, etc.
3. Put up banners(similar to ads) across the site and near comments sections that say dont go to any site unless it is a roblox.com link, also, while know comments for items were removed because of scamming, I think comments for limiteds should be brought back as many users, like myself, read them to know if the limited was gonna be good, now its just guess and check.

Censor anything with the words free, robux, builders, or club? That's essentially what you're proposing. You know how annoying that would be? Not everyone who uses those four words are scammers.

tingiman, I mean only censor sentences with free AND robux/build's club IN THE SAME SENTENCE! Only with thoose types of words in the same sentnce! |

Being scammed won't happen if you don't go to offsite links and you don't have a weak pass.

I simply detest how people are always saying "oh just use a strong pass code". It annoys the heck out of me. If someone wants to steal your account, THEN THEY ARE GOING TO STEAL YOUR ACCOUNT. Regardless if you have a strong pass code or not, because they can, and will ALWAYS find a way to breach the ROBLOX user database, in which they will not be required to "guess", or "brute force", or "scam" the account they want. The Database contains everything they need, and just the fact that people have became so dependent on having a strong pass code is disgusting. If someone wants your account, they will always find a way to get your account regardless if the pass code is "strong". In example: If # wanted to hack "user A", and user A had a very "strong" pass code, I would STILL have absolutely ZERO trouble at all getting into the user's account, yes having a "strong" pass code does protect against brute force attacks (being that brute force attacks are not effective at all, for the reason that they require a word list in most cases), but myself as a hacker in this example would have LITERALLY ZERO issues getting into the user's account, the reason being that the a hacker in this example could simply breach into ROBLOX's user database, and open it as a table file in a program like Excel. It IS NOT only the user's responsibility to secure their account, it is more so ROBLOX's responsibility to ensure to be sure that their users can't be hacked easily. ROBLOX is trying to make YOU the user feel that you are to blame, however if you really got "hacked" (hacked through a database breach) then it is 100% ROBLOX's FAULT for not having a secure enough Database for their user's login information. The fact that ROBLOX really DOESN'T seem to care at all about THEIR OWN users, and THEIR OWN security really disgusts me. And the fact that ROBLOX tries to BLAME it on their own users; acting like this "hacking" issue is a myth in their own Account security wiki, ("What to do if your account is 'hacked'") Putting the word hacked in Quotes believing that the user is simply making it up off the top of their head, is simply abhorrent. |
