basing metal just off of its genre is kind of stupid. a song can be good for its genre, and can be appreciated even if you dont like the genre as a whole

Thats not very stupid actually. Some people like things from certain genres and have genres that they do not like at all. Everyone's viewpoint is there own. Most of what I listen to is metal but you wont find me listening to anything like that song, so in that case I can judge it the way I did.

Prog. metal is growing stale imo. I'm not a fan of The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, either. I listen to primarily thrash and sludge. I'm not a mathcore fan. This comment is completely pointless.

"Prog. metal is growing stale imo" Yeah, I agree but I dont listen to a broad number of bands in any genre, most all of the few bands that I listen to are either progressive rock or metal and as for the prog metal I listen to most of it is progressive deathcore. Im not listening to Dream Theater type stuff when I say prog.

This is what I listen to, ive always thought these bands stood out from the stereotypical djent/deathcore sound thats why I listen to them.
