[Remake of my sister's thread, who is currently in the hospital.]
The elements, fascinating things, eh? You normally think of Fire, Water, Earth and Air right? What about the less known ones, like magma, ice, maybe even storm.
But these are just things spoken of in stories, they hold no value in the real world.
But this isn't the real world now is it?

Elementals roam the lands, everyone knows that. Some befriend them and are given shards. Some kill the elementals and tear out their shards. Shards are important, they give us spells and enchantments. You have decided to set off and gather some shards of your own, to use the magical forces of the world.
There are many kinds of shards and elementals, let's look at them.
~BASIC ELEMENTS~
EARTH:
The elementals of the earth seem like moving jumbles of rock form far away, but up close you can recognize hands, a torso, and a head. These elementals are large, and the most friendly of all elementals. Often they will give a shard to anyone willing to speak to one of them. They are also fierce in combat. They can smash can destroy with their large, heavy hands.
AIR:
From a distance one may be mistaken as a swirl of wind, but closer a face can be recognized on them, and two rocks circling them as hands. These elementals are tall, but quite thin, and they are inquisitive in nature. Often they will give a shard if you explain something bothering them, like what clouds are made of, or where trees come from. They are great fighters, striking an opponent down with lightning.
WATER:
From far away these seem like puddles, up close you can see they don't even touch the ground. Like other elementals they have a face, but their hands are metal unlike the others. They are the smallest elementals, and easily angered by mention of their size. They are aggressive at first, but can become calmed and will often give you a shard for calming them. In combat they can strike you down with a blast of condensed water.
FIRE:
From far away you may think a forest fire has started, but upclose their faces are (barely) noticeable, and their hands of molten rock, and you can see they don't even touch the ground, much like their cousins the water elementals. They aren't very large, but aren't very small either. They are often quick to pick a fight, so when approaching one be prepared to gift it. They will often give shards in exchange for gifts you give them. In combat they can sear their opponent with a cone of hot flame.

There are many more elementals, nine to be exact, but few know much about them, and those who do often don't give the info away for free. Maybe you will learn of the rest from another person, or learn yourself through trial and error.

I (Or a roleplayer I trust) will tell you if an elemental gives you a shard, and I (Or a roleplayer I trust) will control an elemental if you choose to fight it.

Inferosius crawled from a magma vent, in the side of his mountain of choice. He was a normal fire elemental, aiming to some day become powerful. He gazed out from his ledge, a good fifty feet from the forest floor. He had borrowed his home in a magma vent of a dormant volcano. He always sat here, waiting for something to happen.
Aquarios drew from the river. She lived in a river, cutting through the center of a forest. About half a mile away was a mountain, rumored to just be a dormant volcano. She always wondered about it, curious to know whether it was truly a volcano or just a big rock. |
