Hey so if J.J. Abrams directed Star Wars Force Awakens.... But is also directing the upcoming Star Trek film.... It begs the question....

Star Wars Geek, and Adrams did a phenomenal job with star wars. I love the man for what he's done.

trekkie @work, the movies are much worse than the show. If you were to get into it I would just watch The Next Generation or Voyager

My Dad's side of the family are all Trekkies, but I prefer Star Wars.

definitely star wars geek i have seen a few episodes of the next generation though, and i'm familiar with some of the characters

Trekkie. and the new Star Trek movies imo have gone too far action, which admittedly is what you need to make a profitable movie. What made the series great (most of them anyway) was the exploration parts, instead of jam packed full of huge fight scenes and things. The new one I'm especially wary of since it is so greatly advertised as "Directed by Justin Lin, Director of the Fast and Furious." Although, y'know, a script by Simon Pegg is nice.
