Developers, administrators, department heads, and myself are all amazed at the turnout South Hill/Mecklenburg County has had over the past couple of days. However, the deputy fire chief, jjbrickboy and I have had an idea to possibly fix the problems South Hill VFD faces. If you are a firefighter or an EMT, you probably are unaware of the problems the administrative staff faces. We have noticed the mass numbers of people trying to join. Since we are a volunteered department based on realism, we unfortunately are not able to accept every single request we receive. We have grown, far beyond what any of us thought we'd grow to. The idea we have come up with is to have a career department run out of a county. The name of the county has not been decided, however, it is 95% certain the county will be fictional. We, of course, are wanting our member's feedback. With this being said, please contact me on skype (californiaprotection) or private message me if you'd be willing to go through a department change. Keep in mind, we wouldn't be doing this if we didn't know it would benefit us in the long run. Thank you.
