INTRODUCTION: Attributes are something very new to RO-soccer and this means that a lot of people will not know what they should prioritise, this guide aims to give a basic understanding about the advantages of each overall and what kind of players will benefit from having it higher. Note that just because something is written as not good for something, doesn't mean it cannot/shouldn't be used at all, it all depends on how you think your team and you yourself play. BALANCE: What is balance? Balance is the attribute which makes you more likely to stumble, rather than fall, if fouled by a player. Remember, this is still a foul if the other player did not win the ball first. What/who is it good for? - Gives the opportunity to play on despite being fouled - Teams that like to play fast, counter attacking football will want this to prevent the opponent breaking up play with a foul - Players that prefer to run at opponent defenders and take them on - Wingers who want to get a cross in quickly to a player who is exceptional in the air - Defenders who like to hold on to the ball and distribute to their teammates rather than take a safety first approach in case they are dispossessed fairly by an opponent and tripped in the process (since more likely to stumble than fall) What/who is it not as good for? - Teams that specialise in set pieces and focus on attacking from there - Teams that like to slow down the pace of the game and generally play slowly - Players who are not as good at running at defenders HEADING: What is heading? A higher heading attribute allows more accurate and powerful headers. What/who is it good for? - Teams with many tall players - Getting accurate headers in the opponent box and powerful headers out of your own box - Defenders that sit inside the box that need to defend against opponent crosses - Strikers that play for a team that plays mainly through high balls and crosses - Teams that aim to score from set pieces What/who is it not as good for? - Teams that mainly look to play on the ground and have a generally smaller team - Wide players who like to hug the byline - Centre mids JUMPING: What is jumping? Jumping is how high a player can jump, taller players have a natural advantage in this as they can have a higher reach even with a lesser jump attribute, to an extent. What/who is it good for? - Defenders who need to control their own box from opponent's crosses - Goalkeepers, allows them greater reach to catch or punch away high crosses and decrease their chance of being lobbed - Strikers, allows them to compete with opponent defenders who will likely be taller - Teams that like to play high balls - Teams that are not as good at defending against balls in the air as it allows interception of crosses from closer, rather than having to take on the opponent's attacker What/who is it not as good for? - Defenders who play on the sides of a 3 man-defence system as they are more likely to chase the ball down, rather than be in the box - Wingers who hug the byline - Strikers who mainly aim to do their damage through piercing runs through the defence or by taking on defenders with the ball - Teams that attack on the ground SHOOTING: What is shooting? A higher shooting attribute allows more accurate shooting with the shoot and kick tool and, along with the passing attribute, contributes to the accuracy of chip What/who is it good for? - A good shooting attribute is essential for a striker, with a low shooting attribute your goals-to-shots ratio will suffer. - Wingers who like to cut in from the flanks and take attempts at goals themselves - Central midfielders/Central attacking midfielders who supplement their passing role by taking shots from the edge of the box and inside the box - Defenders who a team uses as a last-ditch effort up front when a goal is needed near the end of the game. What/who is it not good for? - Defenders who are unlikely to find themselves in a shooting position, for corners they should have a good heading attribute. - Defensive midfielders who aim to protect the defence and only support attacks with passes - Central midfielders who prefer to spray balls to their teammates from deep P4SSING: What is p4ssing? P4ssing is the accuracy of your p4ss and high p4ss tool and, alongside shooting attribute, how accurate your chips are. What/Who is it good for? - For midfielders this is absolutely essential, without it your successful pass % may be abmyssal - Players who like to play long passes - Teams that look to play long p4sses to target men - Target men that look to collect the ball up front and then release it for supporting team mates - Defenders that like to play the ball out of defence rather than clear it anywhere - Goalkeepers who like to play the ball out of their box rather than just clear it - Wingers who aim to cross the ball, it is required for accurate crosses - Teams in general are going to want at least a few players with decent (82+) passing to play through What/who is it not as good for? - Players whose role is to just clear the ball anywhere - Teams that do not have that many technically gifted players that just want to get rid of the ball, sit deep and hope for a lucky pass to a teammmate in a good position (this is not sarcastic, or an insult, it is important to understand where your team stands compared to others) - Strikers who are aiming to just shoot when they receive the ball rather than pass it SPRINT What is sprint? Sprint is how quickly your player can run when running at their top speed. What/who is it good for? - Teams that sit deep and look to score through rapid counter attacks - Players that like to drive at defenders and take them on - Wingers who want to zip down the byline to get in a cross - Defenders that play on the side of a defensive three - Goalkeepers of teams that like to play a high defensive line, allowing them to clean up any players who do break through - Goalkeepers that like to come out of their box frequently (see: Neuer) What/who is it not good as for? - Teams that generally tend/like to dominate possession - Central midfielders who don't move as much around the pitch - Defenders who sit close to their box - Goalkeepers for teams that play a deep line - Goalkeepers who tend to stay in their box - Defensive midfielders who just look to shield their defence - Strikers who aim to wait in the box for crosses STAMINA: What is stamina? Stamina is how long you are able to sprint for. What is it good for? - Teams that play heavy pressing game and look to rush their opponents when without the ball - Teams that sit back deep to absorb pressure to allow filling of any cracks - Wingers who look to run up and down the byline depending on who has possession - Central midfielders who run box-to-box Who is it not as good for? - Teams that drop off their opponents to keep a rigid shape - Players who are not expected to be mobile, e.g. a central defender, defensive midfielder and a central midfielder who just looks to spray passes - Strikers who like to sit in and around the opponent box and receive high passes TACKLING What is it? A higher tackling value is reflected in a decreased chance of fouling a player with a mistimed use of e (does not apply to professional foul button which is always a foul) Who/What is it good for? - It is the defender's equivalent of the shooting attribute, need to avoid making unneccesary fouls and cannot affort to just not use e as tackling pacey players without it can be tricky - Strikers that like to press the other teams defenders and gk when they are on the ball, increasing the chance of fairly snatching the ball from them - Defensive and central midfielders who need to be able to breakdown opponent play without giving away a free kick - Teams that struggle to defend against free kicks Who/What is it not as good for? - Players who are not expected to tackle as much - Teams that excel at defending set pieces (even then you want defensive players to have good tackling to avoid giving away penalties)
